Yesterday's sim will be at noon today, and there will be a regular sim tonight, late-ish

Sorry folks, Christmas party went a bit late last night. Sims will resume tonight, per usual, and I'll tack a sim on Saturday to make up.

Salaries are now complete, along with finishing trades. It's all done. I have sent the file off to have our portal get up and running. Gar is pretty quick, so i anticipate it being up fairly shortly.

Once we have the portal, there will be a 5 day period to complete all contract extensions. Once those 5 days are over, we will boogie right into FA.

There will be a further 5 days for FA.

contract extensions will be done on the portal, FA bids will be done using the client, as we did last season.

The only thing that is at all different is we will be using a 24 hour clock on fa offers, as opposed to our usual 48 hour window.

AS this is a new sim for us, i will only be enforcing waivers come the reg season, and teams will be able to exceed the salary cap by 10% while you arrange your rosters.

I have been in touch with gar regarding our portal. I am assured it will be live soon, perhaps as early as tonight, but could be a few days.

either way, I am very appreciative.

As you may notice, the new gmsim portal is up.

Feel free to peruse it at your leisure, but do not do any extension until i have it set up. I will give the gree light when it's ready

Tentative start date for extensions will be Monday.

All FAs belonging to your team will be restored to 1year 77777 deals, giving you the opportunity to extend them. All players remaining at end of extension period will become FA.

UPDATED ROSTERS WILL BE UP EITHER LATE TONIGHT OR TOMORROW

Update is done, trades and current releases are all done.

I have made my final tweaks to the extension criteria on the portal. While there are still some irregularities, it's as good as it gets. I find that it does not support really long term contracts, but the resign amounts for the most part, appear decent.

Extensions officially run from Monday June 9 to Friday June 13 at 5pm EST.

Friday night i will do a final update, release the remaining $777777 players to FA

Important note: When you extend the player, the original $777777 is replaced with the first year of the new extension, so please be aware when you are calculating your cap

This week i will also import a coaches file, and get each team's coaches set up

i will be done entering all the extensions by friday night. I likely won't be done altering salaries to account for old age and 2nd contract discounts, but my effort will be to get everyone off the FA list.

Saturday morning 9AM EST will be the start of FA. Please remember 24 hour window from first bid received by me via the submitted client files.

Highly unlikely I will be finished the extensions prior to Friday, so UFA is delayed until i get a handle on extensions.Sorry, thanks for your patience. In the interim though, i am processing trades, and keeping the releases up to date. Once Fa begins, i will tackle rerates, they should not take too long at all.

We are all of different ages, backgrounds, familial situations, getting together to simulate some hockey. It's a hobby, a pastime, a source of enjoyment. Sure there is some banter, some challenges issued, some gentle ripping. Can't be avoided.

But when attacks get personal, and folks get insulted, it ceases to be fun.

As indicated clearly in the rules, when attacks cease to be harmless ribbing or chiding, there shall be consequences, up to and including a ban from the league.

I am extremely unwilling to do this, but if my hand is forced, I'll execute. For the good of the league

The sheer volume of contract extensions is taking way longer than i expected.

While I cannot control you doing extensions on the portal, i am asking all of you to take a break from entering extensions, at least until i get the current 150 or so done.

Not bitching, i promise, just could benefit from your cooperation.

Monday June 16, 2015 at 5pm. a very small roster freeze goes into effect, as i update the portal one more time. once i am done, FA is officially open.


Remember to sign Free Agents, you need to make offers on the client, and submit your bids as a line file to the portal.

This will go on likely until Sunday, June 22. At 5pm EST on this day, final line files will be needed from anyone. I will then sim our first day of preseason action

Please remember, with FA right around the corner, Free Agency players are not eligible for old man or rookie 2nd contract discounts.

These rebates are only available on your own current roster players

Based on the advice of my fellow admin colleagues, i will allow the RFA's belonging to defunct teams who were not picked up in dispersal, to go UFA.

Now, on to more pressing matters. If anyone feels the need to bitch in the chat, your days are numbered here in GMsim.

The rules are in place, and have been for some time. I am not in favour of on-the-fly rule changes. So this is the only one that will pass.

The moment we have all been waiting for . I am tentatively scheduling our first day of preseason game play for Saturday, likely around 2pm. Line files with actual lines should be submitted no later than 12 noon on Saturday to be included in Day 1 action.

i will be starting work on AHL rerates, likely tonight. I will make sure those i get through are part of tonight's update. I hope to be finished them by the preseason.

For creations, i will be doing them during the preseason, to ensure that by the regular season, they will all be done and we can concentrate on game action.
