In addition to strong two-way play and the ability to seemingly find teammates out of nowhere with precision passes, the Crimson junior scored several big goals — including the overtime game winner in the decisive third game against Yale in the ECAC quarterfinals, two goals in both the ECAC semifinals and championship games, and Harvard’s lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Nebraska-Omaha in the NCAA Midwest Regional semifinals. Vesey scored 32 goals with 26 assists in 37 games (third in the NCAA in scoring) and was +23 with 21 penalty minutes. With the size and strength to step into an NHL lineup, there were rumors that he would sign with Nashville during the playoffs before he joined the USA national team at the World Championship.
