I have reviewed the roster file, and i find it to be pretty accurate based on this year's performance in real life.

however, as we are doing sim-rerates, the really elite guys with jacked up scoring and scoring, i will be editing them downwards. for example a guy with 90 sc and 80 pass, he will become 85 scoring and 75 passing, in order to blunt the effects of sim rerates and allowing us to maintain this file as long as possible

Potential ratings are all set to or close to 1, so i will be editing this as well once rosters are established, and on demand for FA signings


AHL players are coming up fairly shitty, so i'll be looking to allow up to 3 AHL rerates per team

As we will be doing a dispersal, i'll also allow 3 outright releases per team (this season only

Dispersal will likely be 5 rounds

i'll have a more in depth look at salaries, but anticipate a 70 mill pro cap, 50 mill farm cap

There are two other difference from our current Holy Grail rule book

1. Injuries will be set to off
2. Re introduing the 3 million limit on AHL players

good to see the team selection went down without a hitch.

Now i will be working on the roster file, and getting it up on the portal. This will take some time.

I anticipate being able to move ahead with the dispersal draft early next week. As much as i'd like to get into it sooner, i want to have the portal updated before we proceed, just to be fair to everyone.

keep in mind we will be using salaries at the end of the current season. (courtesy of capgeek).

This roster file is pretty complete for players who have played 10 games or more from either level.

Mark and I have come up with a plan. The current ratings will stand, with 0 modification.

We have the ability to control to a pretty extensive degree how players rerate and what affects their subsequent jump in stats.

A heavy influence will be made for AHL rerates, meaning your current AHL players, and players who have played a majority of time in the minors, in the effort to nurture our prospects and make them viable NHL players. The top guys therefor, are likely to see their jacked attributes (FO/PA/SC/DF) stay relatively the same.

The theory is by the time the guys who started now as AHL players, by the time they hit marquee status, the current marquee players will be retired, or see their jacked ratings decline with age.

What does this mean? Pretty close to real life maturation and development of players, as well as a life like decline in ratings as they age. It all equals balance, and a viable sim, long-term.

Doing these sims are a collective effort. Thanks to members who have knowledge and expertise, makes our job sooo much easier.

I am hearing much rumbling with regards to players' individual ratings.

this is the roster file we are going with, with each roster player's stats as being the gospel.

I am not adjusting any individual stats with the sole exception of the 'potential' rating, as this was set to 1 or 0 for each player.

We are all using the same file, so get used to the ratings.

A brief reminder, the rerates for the players favours the lesser players who are able to amass some good stats for the upcoming season.

The top flight players, who have great production will see their individual stats frerate upwards at a much lesser pace than a lesser player who has a productive season.

My intent is to complete salaries by Sunday night and ship the complete file off to gar sunday night. Expect the portal to be live early next week. This will coincide with one week of FA, the straight into preseason.

Sorry I have been near non-existant the last 3 days, I am laboring to get through salaries and trades. Good news, I have made it to the Ottawa Senators, so I am getting there.

Due to some fairly heavy issues at home, I've had less time to do the salary component. All I have left are St. Louis, Toronto, Tampa and Winnipeg. They will be done tomorrow night, along with trades.

huge thanks to Simjunkie, who kindly took delivery of the sim file last night, and is in the process of
completing the updating of salaries. if all goes well, I'll take the file back today, update the trades, and get it sent off to gar tonight for him to complete everything and get our portal functional finally.

Once this is done, we will go right to contract extensions on the portal.

Salaries are now complete, along with finishing trades. It's all done. I have sent the file off to have our portal get up and running. Gar is pretty quick, so i anticipate it being up fairly shortly.

Once we have the portal, there will be a 3 day period to complete all contract extensions. Once those 72 hours are over, we will boogie right into FA.

There will be a further 3 days for FA.

contract extensions will be done on the portal, FA bids will be done using the client, as we did last season.

The only thing that is at all different is we will be using a 24 hour clock on fa offers, as opposed to our usual 48 hour window.

AS this is a new sim for us, i will only be enforcing waivers come the reg season, and teams will be able to exceed the salary cap by 10% while you arrange your rosters.

Nah they would need to be sorted I have some guys that are needed on my roster such as kuznetsov, anisimov and some other guys that I'm suppose to have a chance to sign like Winnie, etc.
